Although all hair removal involves some degree of discomfort, clients generally tolerate Brazilians without too much difficulty at our spa. Hair growth is comparable to that of plants or trees in that the roots grow thicker and deeper with time. If you have never had a Brazilian at a spa or otherwise, the first time will be the most difficult, while subsequent regular Brazilian wax appointments will be easier as the new hairs will be thinner and finer. Given the sensitive nature of Brazilian waxing we recommend that they are done only at a spa by an experienced in Brazilian waxing professional.
However, do not let those concerns about initial discomfort keep you from getting your first Brazilian at Cloud 9 Day Spa in Chico as there are ways to reduce the likelihood of pain or discomfort during your first Brazilian. It is very important that clients of any Chico day spa follow these guidelines in preparation for a Brazilian wax:
First, we strongly recommend that our clients take ibuprofen approximately one hour prior to their spa appointment. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and will reduce the occurance of any swelling following your brazilian wax while also reducing any discomfort during the Brazilian waxing procedure.
Second, it is important that you do not bathe, shower, "hot-tub", or take a sauna for several hours prior to your Brazilian wax appointment. All of these soften the skin making it more likely that the skin will lift and be pulled up when you are waxed at a spa (this is true of any waxing, but particularly true for Brazilians).
Third, it is best to avoid tanning for several days prior to your Brazilian waxing appointment at our spa, and that you not be sunburned in any way at the time of your Brazilian appointment. You should also avoid tanning for several days after your brazilian spa appointment as waxing will make the skin more sensitive to sunlight for a few days.
Fourth, it is extremely important that you are trimmed, but not completely shaved, prior to your Brazilian. Preferably the length of the pubic hairs should be 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch at the time of your spa appointment. This is the optimum length for the wax to effectively remove the hairs during a Brazilian wax.
Your Brazilian wax should be re-done every 3 to 6 weeks and do not shave the pubic hairs between Brazilians. Longer hairs have thicker roots, increasing the discomfort from Brazilian waxing. We look forward to seeing you at Cloud 9 Day Spa in Chico for your Brazilian and other waxing needs. Chico Brazilian Waxing
At Cloud 9 Day Spa
A Brazilian wax involves the removal of all of the hair in and around pubic region with the use of wax, sometimes leaving a small strip if desired by the client. At Cloud 9 Day Spa in Chico we use a low temperature stripless hard wax, considered one of the best waxes in the spa industry for Brazilians. Although this brazilian wax is more expensive than hard waxes used by many other Chico spas, our experience at our spa is that it is much more comfortable for brazilian clients and often removes all of the hairs without the need of waxing the same area more than once. We use the most hygienic procedures to insure the safety of our spa clients.
