Charlene completed her 800-hour training in massage therapy at Elements of Wellness School of Massage, in St. Louis, Missouri, and worked at a Napa Valley spa for one year before coming to Cloud 9 Day Spa in Chico.  She is nationally certified and a member of ABMP, as well as a Level 2 Reiki practitioner, and qualified to perform Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, and hot stone massage.

 

Charlene appreciates the relaxing and professional atmosphere at Cloud 9 and the philosophy that massage therapy can be a regular part of a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys seeing the positive changes her clients receive from massage therapy, such as deep relaxation, increased range of motion, improved energy flow and tension relief. Charlene has been practicing yoga, receiving regular massage and exploring self-healing and exercise for over 6 years. She believes that our bodies are innately wise and that healing happens from within and is enhanced by one’s awareness and intention. She comes to the practice of massage with a desire to support others on their wellness journey by customizing each massage session to meet the goals and needs of the client. Respect, communication, observation, listening, intuition and patience guide her work.
